Conventional medicine has various means and methods to treat health problems. However, this so-called "traditional" medicine has few tools to fight and overcome viral diseases. The rapid spread of the new coronavirus around the world is proof of this. Moreover, the therapies and means available to this branch of medicine to treat bacterial infections are currently in decline. As far as the case of the Coronavirus or Covid-19 is concerned, the state of global pandemic has already been declared by the WHO. The increase in the number of people infected and the ease of transmission of this viral disease is putting a strain on the health systems of all affected countries. It is therefore interesting to turn to alternative medicine, such as hyperbaric ozone therapy. Indeed, this practice is full of benefits for the body and allows the management of incurable viral diseases.
Ozone and its Characteristics
Ozone is that bluish gas with chemical symbol 03. In fact, it is this gas that gives the sky its colour. Ozone can be perceived by the human sense of smell and has a slightly pungent odour. It is an irritant gas that is naturally present in the atmosphere, especially in the upper atmosphere. The ozone layer acts as a screen that filters out the ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun. It should be noted that these rays are harmful and can cause certain types of skin cancer.
This triatomic oxygen molecule is, moreover, the most powerful oxidizer that can be found in nature. And as incredible as it may seem, it has been discovered that the body produces ozone. The discovery was made at the Scripps Institute in 2003. The oxidizing properties of this gas led scientists to use it as a therapy.
What is ozone therapy?
Ozone therapy or ozone therapy is, as the name suggests, an ozone-based treatment. For the purpose of the therapy, ozone is mixed with oxygen. The mixture consists of 1-5% ozone and 95-99% oxygen in the form of gas. This gives a proportion of 10 to 70 mcg ozone per cc gas. The mixture is called "medical ozone" and can be administered in a variety of ways. It can be administered through the intestine or injected through the muscle. Another way of administering it to the body is also called self-hematotherapy. This involves using blood vessels to deliver ozone throughout the body. Finally, there is also hyperbaric ozone therapy, which will be developed a little further down.
Ozone therapy has been used since the late 1800s, but it remains little known to this day. This lack of interest from the general public, including the pharmaceutical industry and companies in this sector, is explained by the fact that this therapy is not patentable for profit. This does not encourage them to develop and disseminate this practice. As a result, there have not been many formal studies carried out on this process. However, numerous scientific articles, following research, have already been published on it in Russia, Italy, Germany, Cuba and elsewhere around the world. These articles all demonstrate the powerful biochemical effects of the use of ozone in the treatment of certain diseases.
How does a hyperbaric ozonotherapy session take place?
Hyperbaric ozone therapy is one of many ways to deliver the oxygen/ozone mixture into the body. It is a true therapeutic innovation that facilitates the treatment of diseases of our time. In fact, it is a completely effective and natural response to various chronic pathologies such as AIDS, certain cancers, Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and certain chronic viral diseases.
Like all hyperbaric medicine practices, hyperbaric ozonotherapy is done per session. Each session follows a few steps:
- The patient is first placed in a perfectly sealed room
- Then the chamber is gradually pressurized with air
- Pressurization continues until the pressure inside the chamber is higher than atmospheric pressure
- During the entire session, the patient breathes in the ozone mixture through a completely sealed mask
- Once the session is over, an airlock allows the team ensuring the smooth running of the session to reach the patient.
The length of the session and the intensity of the pressure to which the patient is exposed are variable. They depend on each patient and the indication for treatment. But in general, the session lasts several minutes. And each patient, depending on his or her state of health, can have up to 10 sessions. However, it should be noted that this duration may vary according to the mode of administration of the gas mixture. Hence the importance of consulting with the hyperbarist physician before deciding to begin treatment.
Rest assured, during the first sessions, patients benefit from systematic support. And during the entire session, a specialized technician, a nurse and a doctor are in charge of monitoring the treatment on a permanent basis. In addition, cameras and microphones are placed inside the room to allow communication at all times. Finally, it should be pointed out that children can also benefit from this hyperbaric therapy if the treating physician suggests it as a treatment.
What are the possible complications of such a practice?
Ozone therapy is an exceptionally safe practice. The rate of reported complications following therapy is only 0.7 per 100,000 treatments. The majority of these complications are the result of improper administration of the ozone mixture in the body. The method of administering the mixture intravenously, for example, carries some risk of chest tightness and coughing, as well as irritation of the veins. However, these side effects of ozone therapy are only temporary.
Hyperbaric ozone therapy: what are the health benefits?
With conventional medicine, which does not yet have the means and treatments to manage certain chronic diseases, hyperbaric ozonotherapy is a very effective alternative solution. Indeed, this practice is full of benefits to preserve and strengthen health.
The beneficial effects of hyperbaric ozone therapy are mainly related to the use of oxygen in the body. Indeed, this therapy improves blood rheology, endothelial nitric oxide production and immune modulation. It would increase oxygen intake by 2.3 times. The mixture of ozone and oxygen favourably influences the immune system because ozone can kill germs, fungi and certain viruses. The release of oxygen into the blood also promotes blood circulation. This therapy is therefore particularly suitable for treating infections, promoting blood circulation and boosting the immune defence.
Activation of the immune system
Ozone therapy, regardless of the method of administration chosen, increases vitality. This is made possible by the fact that this therapy promotes oxygenation of the body. And when the entire body is well oxygenated, the immune system is boosted. This allows the treated person to have more energy and to feel a sense of complete well-being. In the long term, this can not only help maintain physical health, but also promotes mental well-being.
Ozone to inactivate bacteria, fungi and viruses
This is one of the greatest health benefits of hyperbaric ozone therapy. In fact, this therapy can inactivate viruses, fungi and bacteria through oxidation. Being formed by 3 oxygen atoms, one of which has an electrophilic characteristic. As such, the ozone molecule seeks to balance with another charge which is also unbalanced. The ozone molecule will achieve this balance with cells infected by viruses, fungi or bacteria. Indeed, this type of cell carries an electropositive charge that will attract the ozone. The latter, by being attracted by the infected cell, will destroy it by oxidizing itself. The ozone acts by damaging the shell of the virus or bacteria and will disrupt its reproductive cycle. Moreover, it should be stressed that oxidation only destroys the diseased cells and protects the healthy cells.
Thus, ozone therapy is effective in destroying viruses, bacteria, fungi and yeasts. And by oxygenating the blood sufficiently, it increases the energy of red blood cells.
Hyperbaric ozone therapy to treat cancers
In order to understand the benefits of ozone therapy for cancer, you need to understand how cancer-causing cells work. In fact, according to Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg, 1931 Nobel Laureate in Medicine, cancer cells evolve from an oxygen-dependent (aerobic) metabolism to an oxygen-free (anaerobic) metabolism. Cancer cells are therefore characterised by a low oxygen content. And to breathe, they rely on the fermentation of sugar, thus promoting their development. This is where ozone therapy comes into play. In fact, we must remember that cancer cells are not fond of oxygen. Thus, an increase in blood oxygenation with this gas reduces the development and aggressiveness of cancer cells. From this point of view, this therapy can be considered as a complement to chemotherapy or radiotherapy in the treatment of the most virulent cancers.
A therapy that allows the body to regenerate itself
Ozone therapy also stimulates the regenerative capacity of stem cells. This stimulation affects all cells in the entire body. Note that this ability of the cells to repair themselves is one of the secrets of longevity. In addition to this, ozone also facilitates the fluidisation of the blood, thus promoting the circulation of oxygen throughout the entire organism and easily reaching all tissues.
Better oxygenation that benefits the body
The super-oxygenation that hyperbaric ozonotherapy brings about increases the metabolism of red blood cells. As a result, people with certain diseases such as Raynaud's disease can see their condition improve as a result of this therapy. Raynaud's disease is characterized by the cooling and numbness of the body's extremities. In addition to this, the sessions of ozonotherapy allow a better oxygenation of the brain. Over time, this boosts memory, concentration and brain function. People at risk for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's can then opt for this therapy as a means of prevention and to delay the onset of the disease as much as possible.
Ozone therapy as prevention
Ozone therapy is a versatile practice. Thus, in addition to being used as a treatment, it also helps to prevent certain chronic diseases, viral and bacterial infections. All the more so since among all the cases treated so far, no conflict has been reported with the standard of medical care in force, including pharmacotherapy. As for the dosage of ozone in the mixture, it depends on the mode of application.
Ozone therapy helps manage Lyme disease
Among chronic diseases that can have serious complications and disabling symptoms such as migraines, meningitis, facial paralysis or heart problems, Lyme disease can also be treated with hyperbaric ozone therapy. The treatment consists of ozonating 200 ml of blood with 200 cc of medical ozone during a 15-minute pass. In Europe and some American clinics, it is common practice to perform 10 passes during a session to deliver 144,000 mcg of ozone to the body of the patient with Lyme disease. This promotes rapid recovery of the Lyme disease patient. This therapy is also effective in patients whose symptoms are not being controlled by antibiotic treatment.
In addition to these many benefits, ozone therapy also has a positive impact on cholesterol reduction. This is possible because it oxidizes the atheromatous plaques that gradually form in the arteries.
Treatment for viral diseases that cannot be treated conventionally
Certain diseases and infections of viral origin can be difficult to treat with traditional medicine. Many of them are currently untreated. The only solution available to health professionals is to proceed by treating the symptoms. However, given this shortcoming of conventional medicine, ozonotherapy is a very effective alternative, especially in the treatment of viral infections. Hyperbaric ozone therapy may also be an effective treatment for the Coronavirus infection that affects hundreds of countries around the world today. The same is true for the Ebola virus. Both viruses are characterized by a cysteine-rich structure. The latter is an amino acid carrying a suflhydryl residue responsible for the development of the virus. Ozone therapy acts by altering these residues carried by cysteine. This paralyses the growth properties of the virus. This alteration is possible thanks to the vulnerability of cysteine to oxidation. And a simple contact with the ozone mixture used during hyperbaric ozonotherapy allows this oxidation.
As you will have understood, when conventional medicine cannot treat certain diseases, alternative medicine such as ozonotherapy can be an effective solution. However, the dosage as well as the duration of treatment and the number of sessions must be determined by a medical specialist. The decision to follow this type of therapy cannot be made without medical advice.
